Kentucky Equine Research-sponsored rider Allison Gerlt was in the dressage ring at the World Equestrian Center – Ocala recently, winning all four of her dressage tests with her two horses, Sir Lommel and Lavatijn Van Kairos, also known as Lonnie and Lava, respectively.

The back-to-back dressage shows hosted at the world-class WEC facility in Ocala featured classes from Training Level to FEI Grand Prix and was an official qualifying competition for the 2022 Great American/USDF Regional Championships.

Gerlt contested the Grand Prix Freestyle with Lonnie, a 16-year-old by Sir Donnerhall. The pair earned a 72.15% in the first test and a 73.125% in the second test, securing victory in each. Lonnie’s freestyle test is a compilation of the Vanessa Carlton song “A Thousand Miles” and music from Katy Perry, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars.

Allison’s second ride, Lava, contested the Prix St. Georges level, scoring 68.382% and 69.412% to chalk up two wins over the weekend. Lava is a seven-year-old gelding by Expression, and Allison hopes to produce him up to the FEI level.

Based just down the road from WEC in the Golden Hills area of Ocala, Gerlt owns and operates MapleWork Dressage, a training and sales facility. Allison has used KER Targeted Nutrition feed and supplements since 2020 and relies on many of the top KER products, including EquiShure, EO-3, Nano-E, and Triacton, along with Synovate HA to support joint health and Restore SR to meet her performance horses’ electrolyte requirements. She also has incorporated the KER feeds RE-LEVE Sport and All-Phase into her feeding program. All horses at MapleWork Dressage now receive KER products in their daily ration. “Hands down, it was the best decision I’ve ever made,” explained Gerlt.

“MapleWork Dressage is so excited for the opportunity to work with the team at Kentucky Equine Research on how to not only maintain but improve the health of our horses,” she said.
