Update from Team Pegasus Rider and Coach Philippa Collier

Team Pegasus rider Philippa Collier has been busy with coaching commitments and campaigning her lovely horse Magnum MP at dressage and show-jumping events this month. Philippa was also very busy in her role as course-dresser at the BGC Wooroloo International Three-Day Event. Her team did a great job dressing up the impressive Pegasus box jump at the event. The jump was featured in our Facebook competition, in which riders posted a photograph of themselves with the jump for a chance to win one of five bags of feed. The lucky winners are receiving their prizes this week. Here’s an update from Philippa:
I’m looking forward to some spring weather after being soaked at the State Dressage Champs and then frozen during show jumping at Dryandra! But I’m happy to say both events were very successful. My horse continues to look great and perform brilliantly on Pegasus Liberty. Liberty makes my feeding plan so simple and easy, which is especially important while I’m so busy with coaching. I know he gets everything he needs from his scoop of feed.
Coaching continues to be very busy, as the shows and events are nonstop at this time of year. I’ve recently had a great few days coaching at the Moora Pony Club Camp in the school holidays. I coached the riders at two recent YES-WA squad clinics, one being cross-country at Dryandra followed by the show-jumping competition. This club continues to go from strength to strength. I also presented at the EWA State Coach Educators Forum in August and represented EWA at the National Coaching Committee Meeting in Melbourne. It’s great to be able to give back to the sport and coaches in this role. The months ahead are filled with many more travels!
As for Magnum, the plan is to compete him at the State Show Jump Champs and Yalambi Showjumping, which I am really looking forward to. Whilst on the upcoming coaching front, I’ll be busy with riders competing at all the one-day events in the later part of the season and then gearing up for those heading to the Adelaide Three-Day Event, which is always a highlight on the calendar!
