Three Turns and Then Home for the Holidays

The holiday season seems to fly by quicker than a cowgirl making three turns around a barrel pattern. Two barrel racers sponsored by Kentucky Equine Research put that pace to shame over the weekend, taking time out from their holiday preparations to pick up a few wins on the road before heading home for the holidays.
Dona Kay Rule and her horse High Valor traveled to Parker County Arena in Weatherford, Texas, for the PCA Year-End Barrel Racing Extravaganza where the pair brought home championship buckle cups in the Open and Senior divisions. “As my dear friend says, ‘we did a thing’ yesterday! Valor and I got to make a run! We won the event, and it felt so good to run!” said Dona Kay in a Facebook post.
Dona Kay relies on Race Recovery™ from KER Targeted Nutrition to keep Valor feeling his best while competing. “It’s really good for those of us that don’t have 20 days between races,” she said. “It’s made a huge difference in this horse this year. Last year, we had a lot of thinness and unthriftiness, but he’s happy and healthy this year.” She also feeds Nano-Q10™ to help Valor recover from strenuous work.
Meanwhile, in Mississippi, Kelley Carrington French was on a three-day winning streak, taking the top spot in the Senior division each day of the Christmas in Dixie barrel race. “Slice of Peachfame was a rock star all weekend at in Jackson. She won the Seniors all three days and earned the Senior Fastest Time award. She also placed every day in the Open. She was 9th, 6th, 10th, and 4th in the Average along with winning the American Qualifier,” Kelley said in a Facebook post.
Kelley feeds her horses KER RE-LEVE®. “I attribute much of this success to the switch to KER RE-LEVE. This feed has allowed my horses to compete at an intense level and schedule without experiencing any more tying-up episodes,” she said. Kelley also uses Nano-E®, a unique, rapidly bioavailable source of natural-source vitamin E that is a vital antioxidant for muscle health, and Restore® SR, an electrolyte with a proprietary slow-release mechanism that allows sodium to be released gradually into the gastrointestinal tract for sustained absorption.
