Team Pegasus riders Laurelle Hayes, Emily Gray and Philippa Collier were all in action at Wooroloo CNC on the weekend. Laurelle’s horses are kept in top condition using Pegasus Equibalance. Equibalance suits her feeding program, as it provides the “better doing” horses with concentrated nutrients, vitamins and minerals from a lower feeding rate. This allows Laurelle to provide all the necessary nutrients for performance without adding excess calories. The oat-free, high-fat, moderate-starch formulation of Equibalance is also great for supplying energy and protein in the diet without heating up horses.

Equibalance contains KER BMC, a unique buffered mineral complex. Research studies have shown horses fed KER BMC have increased bone density and cortical bone thickness. KER BMC also provides a buffering effect in the stomach and the hindgut, which supports gastrointestinal health. Read more about KER BMC and the research here.

Emily and Philippa’s horses are fed Pegasus Liberty. Liberty is a high-fat, high-fibre, low-starch feed ideally suited to horses that tend to “heat up” on grain-rich feeds or those horses with grain- or starch-related issues. Liberty contains no cereal grains and has a starch content of only 7%, so it is great for high-strung Thoroughbreds. Its high-fat formula makes it effective for improving body condition and weight gain, whilst providing low-starch energy sources. Liberty also contains KER Equi-Jewel as an additional fat-based energy source.
