Commanding Florida Derby Win for Tiz The Law
Tiz The Law crossed the finish line at Gulfstream Park on March 28 to win the Florida Derby. The New York-bred colt broke from the seventh position and sat in third until the second turn. Coming into the stretch, Tiz The Law pulled away from the pack, finishing the race in exactly 1:50 and winning by 4½ lengths.
Tiz The Law also won the Holy Bull Stakes (G3) in February and the Champagne Stakes (G1) as a two-year-old. With the Kentucky Derby moved to September, the colt’s next race is up in the air.
To help Tiz The Law recover quickly after racing, trainer Barclay Tagg uses Race Recovery™ from KER Targeted Nutrition. Race Recovery is designed for horses given furosemide (Lasix®) to strategically replenish electrolytes at critical times following exercise, stimulating thirst and helping to replace body weight quickly.
