Barrel-Racing Mare Finds Respiratory Relief with EO-3

For Allison Kraynak and her mare Lolly, 2021 was an unforgettable year but, according to the barrel racer, it wasn’t because of lightning-quick patterns or pots of prize money.
“Lolly and I had a tough year last year,” Allison said. “We made it to only two jackpots before she threw a shoe at her own leg and was out for six weeks. On top of that, she started having nasal discharge and a cough that worsened when I rode her. Those problems didn’t subside for months.”
Allison, a 2021 National Barrel Horse Association World qualifier, understands the importance of respiratory health, especially in speed horses, so she worked closely with her veterinarian to find a solution for Lolly.
“I had my vet scope her and perform a bronchoalveolar lavage. The lavage revealed super-high neutrophils, a sign of inflammation, possibly infection,” she explained. “After trying all sorts of treatments—nebulizers, steroids, medications—my vet recommended a supplement with DHA and EPA, and I stumbled onto EO-3™.”
The change in Lolly’s respiratory health happened quickly. “About a week after I started using the supplement, my mare stopped coughing, and she’s been on the mend ever since.”
Allison and Lolly share a long history. “Lolly has taught me so much, essentially everything I know about riding, so nothing is as important to me as her health. I am so thankful I found this supplement! She is now back in shape and ready to go for the 2022 season.”
EO-3™ is a direct source of DHA and EPA, two essential long-chain omega-3 fatty acids. Research has shown that marine-derived sources of DHA and EPA are absorbed more efficiently into body tissues than plant sources, such as flax byproducts. Use of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids is recommended in a consensus statement regarding inflammatory airway disease published by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
