Dona Kay Rule, a Kentucky Equine Research-sponsored barrel racer, knew her horse High Valor had the potential to be something special. Still, she took her time bringing the Quarter Horse gelding along, telling the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA), “I knew he was really, really powerful, and I brought him along slow. I was forced to get on him after my other horse had a career-ending injury, so Valor just had to step up. When he realized what I was asking him to do, man, he went to work.”

High Valor ran away with the spotlight in 2019, qualifying for the National Finals Rodeo and being named the of WPRA/AQHA Horse of the Year for barrel racing.

Dona relies on KER Targeted Nutrition to keep Valor feeling his best while competing. “I’ve been using two of KER products, Nano-Q10™ and Race Recovery™. I think it’s made a huge difference this year. We left June 26th and it’s now August 8th, and this horse looks wonderful!” she said in a recent video from the road.

Dona also uses Nano-E® a natural-source vitamin E supplement. Her veterinarian recommended it to support another horse on her farm that was undergoing treatment for equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM). “We live in Oklahoma. We have an awful lot of EPM incidents and treat it frequently. Along with the treatment, veterinarians recommend augmenting with a vitamin E product. Kentucky Equine Research has absolutely the best one I’ve ever used,” says Dona.
