Amanda Ross has spent the last months working on her horses’ jumping skills. Both RLE Poynstown Will (Vendi) and RLE Cavalier Vivendi (Hughie) have taken to it beautifully, becoming stronger and more confident. Amanda took both horses to the PSI Dressage and Jumping with the Stars. Vendi entered for his first World Cup and the highly competitive Current Stars Tour, with Hughie in the Daisy Tour.

Hughie started slowly with one rail on Thursday, become more careful on Friday for two clear rounds. The times were fast and he qualified for Saturday’s final, finishing sixth with a double-clear round.

Vendi had a steady, clear round on Thursday for the 1.40m class, which saw the combination in eighth place coming into the second round on Friday. With a clear first round, they had a rail down in the jump-off to place sixth overall. They also took home the prize for Best Presented for the Current Stars Tour.

Saturday brought the World Cup, with jumps varying in height from 1.45m to 1.6m and widths up to 2m. With fences set at this height, Amanda could walk under most of the obstacles, making the class somewhat daunting.

“Vendi was a superstar, brave as a lion. He learnt from round one and improved in round two. I’m so proud of this horse for how well he’s transitioned from eventing to jumping!” commented Amanda. The pair had two rails in the first round but still qualified for the jump-off, and finished the competition in 10th place.

Amanda, sponsored by Kentucky Equine Research, nourishes her horses with  Bio-Bloom® HFEO-3™Equi-Jewel®EquiShure®, and Restore®.

Glenwood Park took a team of horses to the competition as well. Competing in the Young Horse 5-Year-Old Class, Brook Dobbin rode Devos GP to a seventh place finish in first round and Tulara Carrato to sixth place in the second round. The star of the Young Horse competition for him, however, was Velvet Cate who finished fourth overall for the Young Horse 7-Year-Old Tour.

Glenwood Park relies on Bio-Bloom® HF, B-Quiet®, Drink-Up™, EquiShure®, Glucos-A-Flex®, Nano-Q10™., Neigh-Lox®, Restore®, and Equi-Jewel® to ensure its horses are getting the nutrition they require to perform at the top.
