Clarissa Brown-Douglas, Ph.D.
Clarissa Brown-Douglas is from Wellington, New Zealand. She graduated with an honors degree in animal science and a doctorate in equine growth and development from Massey University. Her research focused on growth and maturation in Thoroughbreds born in the spring and autumn. After graduating Clarissa lived in Aspen, Colorado, before landing in Kentucky to work in the Thoroughbred industry.
Clarissa spent five months prepping yearlings at Lane’s End Farm before joining the Kentucky Equine Research team as a research fellow in October 2005.
She spent a year analyzing Kentucky Equine Research’s large database of body weight and growth data. In early 2007, Clarissa took over the role as international client services manager. Clarissa has been involved in horses all her life, but also enjoys skiing, traveling, and reading.
