Kentucky Equine Research-Sponsored Rider Finishes Well at the Horse First Dressage Festival

The Horse First Dressage Festival was held 1-4 December at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) in Tamworth. Mary Nitschke, a Kentucky Equine Research-sponsored rider, competed Astronomical, also known as Astro, in Prix St George, Intermediate I, and Intermediate Freestyle.
Because Mary previously competed in U25 classes, Astro is one of the first horses she has competed in open classes. In Tamworth, she placed 10th in the Prix St Geroge with a score of 64.902% in a field of 25 horses; 6th in Intermediate I with a score of 65.245% in a field of 22 horses; and 3rd in the Intermediate Freestyle with a score of 69.65% in a field of 10 horses.
To support her horses’ athletic endeavors, Mary uses Neigh-Lox, EquiShure, B-Quiet, Restore, and Bio-Bloom HF. “I can really notice a difference in the horses since I began using these products,” Mary said.
