Two long-standing Kentucky Equine Research-sponsored equestrians recently had victorious weekends at prestigious winter venues.

Chester Weber guided his four-in-hand to a win in the Advanced Open Horse Team at the Spring Fling CDE, held at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala, February 16-20. In a Facebook post, Chester said he was “extremely proud of this new team,” which consisted of Kasper, Kadora, First Edition, and Gouveneur.

This competition included a series of “firsts” for the team: it was Kasper’s first time in competition, First Edition’s first time as the right-wheeler, and Kadora’s first time in the right lead position. The partnership between Chester and Gouveneur was renewed at the Spring Fling CDE, as Chester hasn’t competed the gelding since Aachen in 2019.

Weber chooses Restore® SR to ensure his horses meet their electrolyte requirements and All-Phase® to meet other nutrient needs without excess energy. “Having a team member like KER on your side is really invaluable because it takes away the worry of staying on top of the latest in equine nutrition,” explained Weber. “I trust the experts at Kentucky Equine Research.”

At the Rocking Horse Winter II Advanced Horse Trials, held February 17-20 in Altoona, Florida, Buck Davidson and Jak My Style won the Advanced Test A division. Sitting in second place after dressage, the pair incurred no penalties in the stadium phase and only a handful of time penalties cross-country to claim the win.

Buck has had the ride on Jak My Style, a 2005 Thoroughbred gelding, for many years, together competing in several 4* and 5* events.

Buck relies on KER Sport Horse Nutrition feeds to supply nutrition that ensures his horses perform their best. “KER has always been the authority on feeding high-performance sport horses,” Buck said. “I’ve always relied on KER-formulated feeds.”
